We are excited to introduce you to husband and wife team Dr. Wiggy Saunders and Emily Saunders. HEALNC had the opportunity to interview this medical freedom power couple for our latest installment in our North Carolina Medical Freedom Hero series. 

Dr. Wiggy and Emily are not only extremely accomplished in their own right, they are the parents of five young children, the youngest of which was born in their home seven months ago. 

Dr. Wiggy is currently a physician with Robinhood Integrative Health, located on Robinhood Road in Winston-Salem. He is a graduate of Wake Forest University’s medical school. Dr. Wiggy joined Robinhood Integrative Health directly after completing his residency and has been practicing medicine for eleven years. He has helped thousands of patients regain their health through an integrative, all-inclusive approach. 

Dr. Wiggy’s wife, Emily, is a force in and of herself. She is an entrepreneur and healthy living advocate. She is the co-founder of Mom Sanity, a community of moms striving to achieve balance through physical, emotional and spiritual wellness. Emily is also the co-founder of Raise Them Well, where you can purchase toxic-free products for the whole family. Emily is the Network Director of North Carolina Physicians for Freedom (NCPFF), which was created in the waiting room of Robinhood Integrative Health in the fall of 2021 just as vaccine mandates were becoming widespread.

NCPFF supports patient rights, the doctor-patient relationship, individualized patient care, informed consent, and medical privacy. Dr. Wiggy serves as the President of the Board.

HEALNC works closely with Emily and her teammate, Dianna Lightfoot, to educate the legislature about a wide variety of medical freedom issues. Emily and her team at NCPFF have made themselves a valued resource to our legislators.

We also asked Dr. Wiggy about the difference between conventional medicine and integrative medicine and why he believes that an integrative approach is superior. He provides his perspective on why many practices are now dismissing patients for non-compliance.
